Just created for Angel. Her sister got one for Christmas from us that looked like a mushroom house so she came over and choose her colors for her fairy and we decided a yellow home would suit her best. Next comes the furnishings. We're having so much fun with this. Like being a kid again.

Inkle Works

Middle photo show inkle belts.

These are worn as belts like in the 1800's and used for many other things.
Pocket book handles, narrow ones were made to hold up stocking in 1800's.
They can be sewn together to create a vest and other items.
Large wide ones make beautiful table runners.

The last photo is of a pocket book created with inkle belt handle.
This pack is large enough to carry lunch, mat to sit on in woods and oodles of other things.

Pocket book sets.

Found a great article years ago that was helpful to us.
We teach at Statley Oaks. Working with children and adults.
This article was about creating small loams with card board, string and pens.

The juste made a tough little set that I pack lunch in when going to stately oaks or woods.
The multi colored pocket book is crochet knot work. But they can also be done just as hand knot work.

The striped set was created for sale at the feastivals. It has an inkle woven belt on far left.
A yarn purse necklace like a little med. bag. And asorted purses.n The pocket book was crochet.
There is a picture of me working on a card board loam, making a Clutch purse, in the Stately Oaks file of my photos. The loam you will see is very large compared to the ones we use in teaching.

Knitted Scarf

One of my creations for Grand Daughter.

It took two 5 oz. skeins.
Once it's taken off you can fold it in half and sew it together from fold corner down about 7 inches and this will form a hood. Or just leave it as a scarf and make a hat to match with a round loam.
















You can also create a scarf on the round loam. This example created last year was done by going back and forth not around the round loam. But you can just go all the way round and create a tube. I like this curling effect because it clings better to my face to cover the nose and mouth.
The craft stores are more expensive so try Walmart or somewhere like it to get kits.

Use one of your favorite jam or curd or relish recipes and fill a small jar.
If you like you can create a whole basket for a family by
filling a large jar with a rice/bean mix, a med. jar with a fry bread mix, a small jar of relish, and another large jar with a cake or cookie mix. WA LA
A meal in a basket.
Line the basket with a beautiful kitchen towel and place it at someones door.
What a wonderful surprise they'll find.
